Caring for others is something that comes naturally to Abdoulie Mbowe, after all his name means “servant of God.” He has always felt a calling to help people and found his purpose through becoming a Caregiver and joining Family & Nursing Care Classic’s registry in 1998.
Each day that Abdoulie is with a client, he strives to do his best work, ensuring that the client is not only happy, but relaxed and enjoying his company. He likes to remember that he’s caring for a human being, just like himself, and finds empathy by imagining himself in their shoes, or imagining he were taking care of one of his own parents.
With more than 25 years of caregiving experience receiving referrals from Family & Nursing Care, Abdoulie has learned how to make a positive impact and find success with clients. He shares that the quality of the Caregiver-client relationship is a key factor and he thoroughly enjoys hearing clients’ life stories as well as sharing his own in return, which unites the two on a deeper level.
Abdoulie notes the importance of taking care of yourself, especially when taking care of others is your career. He does this by waking up and praying first thing in the morning, cooking healthy meals, drinking plenty of water, and staying active.
